The true way to my heart is food.

Is it bad that I am already super bored of the 31 day blog challenge? And if I am bored of my own 31 day blog challenge, I would imagine that any readers are not so entertained either. However, for right now I will keep doing it. I have a tendency to start something and get really excited about it and do really good and then I... don't finish. So I am seriously going to try to finish this little project just to prove to myself that I can finish, if nothing else.
Now changing subjects I just wanted to take a moment to talk about my husband. Since it seems as though Winston has become the star of both of my blogs (which is really not a bad thing at all) I realize that I have not written as much about the man who helped get him here. And I think that Steven loves when I write about how much I love him because, he loves reading my blog. He even created an app for his phone that notifies him every time I update (which I will probably cover on another blog post because it is totally awesome).
Monday night I was sitting on our couch, feeling hungry, and suddenly I felt a familiar feeling. A craving like when I was pregnant (but don't worry ((mom)) I'm not) I had to have Paradise Bakery and I couldn't shake my hunger for it. I shared this need with Steven and he (like a good man) suggested that we go to Paradise Bakery the next night and make a date out of it. Eating food makes me excited. The excitement level I feel about eating is right up there with going to Disney Land and Christmas morning. It could even surpass them. Sadly, I am still eating like I am pregnant and that is not really helping me to get rid of my baby belly... Moving on. The best part about the date is that HE even found a willing babysitter, our friend Ken.
The whole day on Tuesday I could not stop thinking about how excited I was for our date. I hardly ate a thing in preparation. Probably not the best idea ever but it worked. After dropping the little man off we headed out, hand in hand. We love our little Winston more than anything but boy was it nice to get out just the two of us. When we were finished with our meal after 45 minutes we decided that Ken had not had enough time with our baby yet. (This is where we travel back in time to high school). We still wanted to stay out so we decided to... go to the mall and walk around. Now, the mall closest to our house is quite possibly the most ghetto mall in Arizona. For those of you who don't know, it's called Fiesta mall (Arizona Mills would be up there too. However the reason it is not #1 is because most of the stores are still open and it is actually still a nice mall. The people that choose to go there are just scary). Every time we go there I am always just about the oldest mom there. I'm 22. Something is not right.  Anyways, On our way there we rolled the windows down and blasted some music and danced. Naturally. The dancing in the car thing is totally normal for us but we had to cut back on bumpin' the music since Winston came along.
We had such a fun time at the mall and on our date.
I have realized that as much as I love spontaneous dates, I think that I enjoy the anticipation of one even more. AND middle of the week dates might be even more awesome than weekend dates. Although I don't discriminate I love them all. All dates. They are all awesome.
Thanks to Steven for taking me out for a night on the town. I love spending time with you. Especially when we are eating. You know the true way to my heart is food.
I am already looking forward to our next date.

  1. I love this post. I especially love the part about jamming out to music... mostly because we do that and wonder if we're immature. LOL. Life is good... why take it too seriously?? haha

  3. Mmmm. I love food a lot, a lot, a lot, too. Dates are so important. And it's funny that you are the oldest mom at that mall. :)
