Who Dares Disturb My Slumber?

Every night after 9:00 my body shuts down. I can't help it and I certainly don't like it. I think my body is confused as to what age it really is. The only remedy I have found for not falling asleep as soon as the clock strikes 9 is standing up, and an ice cold Dr. Pepper (with cherry) but my body can only handle so much caffeine.
Last night, like always, Steven and I were snuggling on the couch watching 30 Rock online annnddd, my body stopped functioning. To the point where speaking became difficult, and thinking or walking was out of the question. (Do I have some sort of disease? I swear this can't be normal.) Steven did what he does most nights and carried me into bed and tucked me in till I was snug as a bug in a rug. He sat in bed and read his book while I drifted off to dream land.

At 2:00 IN THE MORNING I was RUDELY awaken by some horribly loud noise. I listened for a second and realized that it was our NEIGHBOR SNORING right next to our wall. Irritated, I put my ear to the wall, because I had to make sure that this noise was for real, and I said, rather loudly, Oh. My. Gosh. Which then woke Steven up. He was confused and muttered What happened?
I said,
" CAN YOU HEAR THAT? PLEASE TELL YOU CAN HEAR THAT! That is not normal."
He proceeded to tell me that he can hear it but it is not keeping him awake. Then rolled back over and fell asleep.

I laid in bed and tried to get back to sleep for a couple minutes with no luck. I grabbed my blankets and slept on the couch so that I could not hear the incredible snoring. Really. Who can sleep like that?

In the morning after the alarm went off Steven came out of the room and was so confused as to why I was lying on the couch. He remembered nothing of the night before.
Maybe I was overreacting a little bit. But seriously. If it happens again I am leaving a note on their door. I don't know what good it will do, but it will make me feel a heck of a lot better.

  2. Wow, that's either some really thin walls or a really loud snorer. Yikes. Hope that works out for you. (By the way, this is Natalie, Steven's cousin.)

  3. Wow, that is amazing, that the snorer is that loud. My best friend's dad snored so loudly that he shook the house. I could hear it when I spent the night with her. He'd be, like, three floors above us, and I could still hear him. His poor wife... Ben is a snorer and it drives me nuts.
